After considering everyone's comments on the first draft of my cookbook cover, I've tinkered around a bit more and come up with some different looks. Please tell me which you prefer by leaving a comment. I appreciate it so much!
P.S. As Melonie has already pointed out, there is a typo in the subtitle. Please ignore it for now; I'll correct that later :)
Cover A or B:
Cover C:
Cover D:
Cover E:
Cover F:

I like Cover A!
ReplyDeleteI'm torn between covers C and E. Love the color play of E, but the overall layout of C.
ReplyDeleteJust a heads up - there's a typo in the subtitle - it should be "delicious" (no s before the c). {It's not meant to be snarky, truly trying to help - I'm an editor by profession.}
Melonie, thank you for catching the typo! That's what happens after I do this sort of thing in the evening, when I'm exhausted!
ReplyDeleteI like C and D.
ReplyDeleteI still like A, but I liked it better with the darker green. But I really like C now, although it makes me thing of soups and fall... not really veggies. I think my favorite of these is D. I love how there are grilled veggies on the front. I love how the yellow font on the right side doesn't overlap the pictures, which means I can read each word perfectly. So I guess I'm no help now. Too many choices! LOL
ReplyDeleteI like A. Why? Because, with the exception of B, it's the only one that has a picture of an assortment of vegetables. I think that emphasizes what the cookbook's all about - vegetables. I like B, but I like the darker green in A better. I also like all the rest of the covers (for various reasons) but A works best as far as I'm concerned.
ReplyDeleteI like A the best. The reason? Because (with the exception of B), it's the only one that has a pic with an assortment of veggies on it. That emphasizes the focus of the cookbook - veggies. I like A better than B because of the darker green tone. I like all of the other covers (for various reasons), but I think A works best for a cookbook about veggies.
ReplyDeleteI like C and D... I like the green and yellow combination of colors... I also love eggplants. :) Also the visual of letter/ titles was clearer.
ReplyDeleteI too like the assortment of veggies and also like the cover that would have more than one veggie on it. A lot of people do no care for eggplant.... OR radishes.... though those photos are gorgeous.... Choose a veggie cover that has pics of veggies most of us love. BTW, I grow LOTS of eggplant & radishes 'cause I love them, but through the years have found friends do not care for the extras I share with them them of these two veggies. Just my two cents worth....
ReplyDeleteI like B best. The color of the vegetables really stand out. A would be my next choice.
ReplyDeleteCover E...a vegetable cookbook should have vibrant and delectable looking vegetables on the cover to attract the eye.
ReplyDeleteI like cover D. For people that may not like veggies, the front looks like it could be steak or even fish! It might bring the non veggie eaters to want to try them:) C is also really good!
ReplyDeleteI like Cover A or Cover E. Cover A is much more vibrant than Cover B (which is the same cover, of course) and looks like a well-rounded meal with the vegetables nicely highlighted. I like the vibrant coloring in Cover E, as well, and although I'm not sure what those vegetables are (radishes?), I find the picture appealing and intriguing -- it makes me want to read more. Cover B just looks washed out to me; Cover C has the same problem mentioned in your previous post (soup = fall/winter, not "every season"), and the photo on Cover D looks like meat patties with a few sprigs of herbs -- not what you're going for with a vegetable cookbook.
ReplyDeleteIt's fascinating to read what you ladies think. I love E and F...Nobody has even mentioned F! Thank you, I appreciate all your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteWhen you come right down to it, the ultimate decision is yours. I think no matter which one you choose, it'll be fine. They are ALL nice covers; we just each have our favorites. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for that, Christine. It's true enough - though one does hope for one cover that really jumps out at people.
ReplyDeleteI like the design and colors of Cover A, but the picture for D the best. :) I know, a lot of help. ;)
ReplyDeleteCover B but make the purple in the background pop more. all those colors set the pace and mood
