There's nothing sweeter than a homemade gift, and when you want to instill your children with the joy of giving, but they don't have much money to spend, homemade gifts are practical, too.

We purchased some felt kits for Santa hats and stockings and they couldn't be easier to make. All the pieces are precut, so all my preschooler had to do was glue the decorations on. Projects that are well within your child's ability not only are more attractive, but they increase your child's confidence level, too. And while we're talking homemade gifts, how about one you can make for the children? Over at Country Living they have instructions for an incredibly easy doorway puppet theatre. If you don't sew, you could use fabric glue and safety pins to construct it instead.
